A NATO surveillance aircraft monitoring Polish airspace has recorded the flight path of a missile which exploded in Przewodowo in the Lublin voivodeship, near the border with Ukraine, the US CNN reported on Tuesday night.
Information on the missile’s trajectory has been provided to NATO and Polish authorities, an anonymous representative of the North Atlantic Pact said, as quoted by CNN. No details were given about where the missile was launched or the country responsible for the incident.
Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin assured Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Mariusz Blaszczak in a phone call of the US’ “ironclad” commitment to defending Poland and its readiness to assist in the investigation of the missile strike on Przewodowo, the US ministry reported.
The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that a Russian-made missile fell in the village of Przewodów in the Hrubieszów district of the Lublin voivodeship at 3:40 pm, resulting in the deaths of two Polish citizens.
“An analysis of the findings to date with commanders, service chiefs and allies is underway at BBN. At 10.00 am the North Atlantic Council begins. At 11.00 am, the President of Poland will meet again with the Prime Minister and ministers. At noon, the National Security Council will take place”

Meanwhile, CNN, citing a source in NATO, reports that an Alliance aircraft in Polish airspace on Tuesday was tracking the trajectory of a missile that exploded in Poland.
The relevant radar data was supposed to have been transmitted to both the NATO command and the authorities in Poland. CNN’s source did not convey who fired the missile or from which direction.
