After defeats against Serbia and the Russian national handball team, the Polish women will face Cameroon on Tuesday in Lliria (25 km from Valencia) in a match that will decide the promotion from Group B to the main round of the World Championship in Spain.
To join Serbian and Russian women in the next phase of the handball World Cup, the red-whites cannot lose to Cameroon. Vice-champions of Africa also have on account two losses, but in much larger dimensions – 18:40 with the Russian team and 18:43 with the Serbian team.
The top three teams from each of the eight groups will advance to the regular round. The teams from Group B will meet from 9-13 December in Granollers with the teams from Group A, which includes France (2017 World Cup gold medallist), Montenegro, Angola and Slovenia. The best two teams from each of the four six-team groups will advance to the knockout stage.
The title is defended by the Netherlands, which two years ago in Japan defeated Spain 30:29 in the gold match. In the meeting for the bronze medal, Russia then proved to be better than Norway 33:28.
Poland – Cameroon match at the handball world championships on Tuesday at 18.00. Polsat Sport and Super Polsat broadcasts.
