Iga Świątek has secured her place in the third round of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games with an emphatic 6-1, 6-1 victory over France’s Diane Parry. The Polish tennis player continues to impress with her powerful performance on the court.

In her match against Parry on Philippe-Chatrier Court, Świątek quickly asserted her dominance. She won her first service game despite minor challenges and soon broke Parry’s serve. From there, Świątek exhibited a series of spectacular shots, leaving Parry struggling to respond. After taking the first five games, Parry managed to win the sixth with some thrilling rallies. However, Świątek swiftly regained control and closed the first set 6-1.
The second set saw Świątek maintaining her relentless form. She broke Parry’s serve immediately and followed up with a flawless service game. Although Parry briefly fought back, winning the third game despite two double faults, Świątek’s superiority remained clear. She regained momentum, winning the remaining games to finish the set and match 6-1.
Świątek’s next opponent is China’s Xiyu Wang, who advanced after a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Diana Shnaider in the second round. Their match is set for Tuesday, July 30th.
