This is the first medal won by Polish rowers at the 2022 European Rowing Championships and the third in general.

A Polish rescue group set out from Nuremberg towards Bordeaux to help extinguish fires in the Landiras region. Thousands of hectares of pine forest have been burnt. More than 700 hectares of forest area have already been burned, and 3,000 people evacuated. Bartkowiak: "Usually we are sent the most difficult sections. A terrible tragedy took place in Warsaw's Praga today. A 5-year-old boy slipped under a tram on Jagiellońska Street at the Battalion "Platerówek" station. The tram was dragging the five-year-old's body along the tram track and other passengers could do nothing about it. The boy's hopeless grandmother was the most shocked. The boy died in the accident. According to the spokesman for Warsaw Trams, Maciej Dutkiewicz, the 5-year-old was probably pinched by the tram's door.
About thousands of former employee flats in Poland are the subject of a new non-returnable subsidy granted by the state. The second grade students from Białystok University of Technology created an innovative glove that translates sign language. The glove is named STJM and recently it has won the first place in the national competition called Young Innovator 2022. STJM is equipped with a number of sensors that collect information about the arrangement of both each individual fingers and the whole hand.
Polish canoeists won 7 medals during ICF Canoe-Kayak Sprint 2022 in Halifax, Canada. Both Polish men and women are coming back home with medals! The sports meeting in Canada was a great success for our representatives! Congratulations!
Robert Lewandowski scored his first goal for Barcelona yesterday! It was his first goal for the club as a Barcelona player. Lewandowski scored a point in the 3rd minute of a friendly match against Pumas UNAM at the Camp Nou stadium. He ran into the penalty area, passed goalkeeper Julio Gonzalez and hit the ball from a sharp angle. He also made two assists. Eventually, Barcelona won 6-0 (4-0) in the Joan Gamper Trophy and Lewandowski was the MVP!
It was a great race for the Polish representatives! Janusz Kołodziej won the second round of the TAURON Speedway Euro Championship 2022 cycle in Güstrow, Germany. Patryk Dudek took 2nd place on the podium and Daniel Bewley was the 3rd.
The beginnings of Polish craftsmanship date back to the early Polish Piast (X century) times. Today is the 80th anniversary of Janusz Korczak's death. On August 6, 1942, the Nazi German occupiers took Janusz Korczak, all co-workers and two hundred pupils out of the Orphans' Home to their last path. All of them were transported in covered, crowded carriages with windows barred with barbwire to the extermination camp in Treblinka, near Małkinia.
The International Linguistics Olympiad (IOL) is one of 13 International Science Olympiads for secondary school students, and has been held annually since 2003. Each year, teams of young linguists from around the world gather and test their minds against the world’s toughest puzzles in language and linguistics. Poland was represented by 2 teams and won 4 medals! Young Polish secondary school students brought home two silver and two bronze medals.
