European Masters Weightlifting is the Olympic sport of weightlifting for persons 35 years old and older. This year, the competitions took place on August 20-28 in Raszyn, Masovian Voivodeship. Over 670 female and male competitors from all over Europe applied to participate in the event. The event was divided into 7 categories. Our Polish athletes managed to score a place in the top three in almost every category.
Today, on August 28, the third and the last competition of the Polish Cup Drone Racing 2022 series takes place in Cracow. In addition to the final competition of pilots, the participants can have fun in the so-called education zone and try a drone simulator. The drone specialists tell about the qualifications to fly a drone legally and safely in the education zone. However, when it comes to flying methods, various types of drones are presented in urban spaces. Also, thanks to the drone simulator, it is possible to see how to fly various aircraft with the help of special control equipment. It is worth mentioning that a drone simulator is the first step toward flying a real drone.
This weekend, the 16th edition of Days of Wine is held in Jasło, Subcarpathia Province. A special climate of the event offers interesting conversations and positive emotions accompanied by music. The participants have also a chance to taste regional products on the fair. This is the largest wine festival in Subcarpathia that gathers Polish and foreign winemakers, wine lovers and enthusiasts, and amateurs of meetings and delicious food.

On August 26, two Polish athletes advanced to the finals of the Diamond League! A great performance at the Athletissima annual athletics meeting in Lausanne, Switzerland. The 24-year-old European Championship Vice-Champion Natalia Kaczmarek did not manage to repeat her latest excellent results from August (49.86 in Chorzów and 49.94 in Munich). However, she took 5th position (51.03), and together with Michał Rozmys, advanced to the grand final of the Diamond League in Zurich on September 7-8. Michał Rozmys was 5th in the 1500m race and broke his life record by 0.24 seconds. This is still the 2nd best result in the history of Polish athletics in this competition.
A great discovery on the archaeological, ethnographical and ecological project of Ga'ab El Lagia Church in Sudan was detected by the Polish researcher. During the excavations in the Ga'ab El Lagia church, Ph.D. Magdalena Łaptaś from The Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw documented paintings showing, among others Our Lady with Christ and two archangels. The church and the paintings are about a thousand years old.
European Floristic Championship is an event around which crowds of floristry and flower enthusiasts from all over Europe gather every four years. Representatives from each country enter this prestigious competition to select the one who deserves the palm of victory in the European arena. Karolina Lanckorońska was one of those people who did not hesitate and devoted their lives to the motherland, Poland. She was able to sacrifice everything, and at the same time, in her modesty, she considered it completely natural and not worth mentioning. "She was an art historian and collector, highly meritorious to Polish culture, a soldier of the Home Army, a prisoner of the Ravensbrück concentration camp, an activist of the Polish community in Italy." Sara James advanced to the America's Got Talent finals with the votes of the audience! Only two of the eleven show participants could advance to the finals. According to the official results, the 14-year-old girl from Poland will compete with the French magician Nicolas Ribs who also made it to the last stage.
"Ukraine! Film Festival" is the only festival of Ukrainian films in Poland. This year it will be the seventh edition. Over 50 feature, documentary, short and animated films will be included in the "Ukraine! Film Festival" program. This year's edition will include the following sections: Faces of Ukraine, Women's Stories, Mariupol, the Art of Freedom and the Best Short Film Competition. The event, co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, will be held on October 21-29 at the Kinoteka in Warsaw and online on the VOD platform in Warsaw from November 1-14. It will also be hosted in the 10 largest cities in Poland.
Vistula River Feast is the event celebrating green planty, the Vistula boulevards, and the river itself! The feast is a cyclical outdoor event organized by the Capital City of Warsaw. The event aims to present and promote shipping and encourage Warsaw residents and tourists to spend time by the river and on the river.

The audience from United States have 24 hours to vote for their favourite singers in the semi-finals. After the voting, we will find out if the Polish singer made it to the final. As always, after the live episode on Tuesday, the voting results will be announced on the NBC channel today.
The young Polish singer, Sara James is already in L.A. She will perform live in front of an American audience this evening. The 14-year-old will fight for promotion to the show finals. The lineup includes also the solo singer Amanda Mammana, singing ventriloquist Celia Munoz, the uncle-niece duo Jojo and Bri, the one-woman band Mia Morris, and the JoJo Siwa‘s girl group XOMG POP.

"Gwarki Days" refer to "games and comedies" organized during city fairs. Sine 1561, only one of them has taken place at the beginning of September. This year, the celebrations will last four days from September 8-11. "Gwarki Days" also refer to the mining festival celebrated on July 16 that commemorates the rediscovery of silver-bearing ores near Tarnowskie Góry in 1784. The name of the event comes from miners who extract silver-bearing galena, called "Gwarki".
