“We are seeing an attempt to build a permanent route across the Polish border. This is an artificial creation of migration pressure on our country,” reveals a spokesman for the minister coordinating the special services, Stanisław Żaryn. At the same time, he adds, Poland has evidence that unequivocally shows that those are the official Belarusian structures that are heavily involved in transporting groups of immigrants to the Polish-Belarusian borderland. “They are even guides for the migrants to the border,” Żaryn says.
Asked about the situation on the Polish-Belarusian border in an interview with Radio Three on Thursday, Stanisław Żaryn revealed that there are around 200 attempts to illegally cross the border every day. He pointed out that almost every day people who were involved in organizing illegal immigration were also arrested.
A spokesman for the Minister Coordinator of Special Services notes that there is a high risk of an attempt to build a permanent migration route across the Polish border.
“The figures clearly show that we are dealing with the creation of artificial migration pressure on Poland,” – added Żaryn.
As he said, there is information that officers of the Belarusian service help groups of immigrants to enter the territory of Poland.
“We also have evidence that official Belarusian structures are very strongly involved in transporting specific groups of migrants to the Polish-Belarusian border area. They are even the guides of migrants to the very border. This all indicates and proves that the Belarusian state services are involved in creating this attempt to destabilise the Polish-Belarusian border,” – Żaryn said.
A spokesman for the Minister of the Coordinator of Special Services stresses that the way Polish services operate at the border ensures a very high level of detection of attempts to cross the border and of people who have already crossed it illegally.
According to Żaryn, we are dealing with the beginning of an operation to destabilize Poland by using the migration route. The traffic situation at the border is becoming an ongoing priority issue, he added.
Since the beginning of September, the Border Guard has recorded almost 5,000 attempts to illegally cross the Polish border with Belarus.
Asked whether Frontex offers assistance on the Polish-Belarusian border, he replied that the agency does not have its officers who could be sent to the border.
“Frontex is a way for different national formations to work together to support each other. We, as Poland, are in constant contact with Frontex, but for now, we are securing our border, in the sense of physical presence, with our forces,” – added a spokesman for the Minister Coordinator of Special Services.
